What documents do I need to rent a car?

You need two documents: your ID card or passport and your driving licence. Send copies or photos of your documents by email for validation, and present the originals to the WLC agent when picking up the car.
❗ For certain vehicle categories or specific rental conditions, booking confirmation requires both submitting your documents and paying a 20% deposit. Is the displayed price final or are there additional fees?

The displayed price includes third-party liability insurance, the road vignette, maintenance, seasonal tyres and 24/7 technical support. It does not include road tolls (other than the vignette, e.g. bridge tolls) or fines attributed to the driver. Mileage is unlimited within Romania for rentals over 3 days (with a 300 km/day limit outside the country, regardless of duration). At pickup, our team will explain exactly what your chosen package includes and what additional services you can add.

What is the deposit and when is it held?

The deposit is an amount held on your card at pickup, between 350 and 1,500 EUR, depending on the vehicle class. It is released in full or in part within a maximum of 7 business days after return, following an inspection of the car's condition. It may be partially or fully retained in case of additional damage, an excessively dirty car, unpaid fuel or mileage, unreturned keys/documents, late return or missing police documents in the event of damage.

Where do I pick up the car and where do I return it?

The car is picked up and returned, as a rule, from WLC's locations in the city of your booking (including the airport, with a free shuttle), or it can be delivered to an address in Romania of your choice for an additional fee (minimum 24 hours' notice), subject to availability. Return is made in the same city; returning in a different city is only possible with WLC's written agreement, subject to availability, and involves a relocation fee ("One Way Rent").

Is there an extra charge for an additional driver?

You can add an additional driver free of charge. Original ID documents (ID card or passport and driving licence) are required for each driver who will use the car.

How do I change the rental period?

To make changes to your booking, don't hesitate to contact us by email at office@wlc.ro, by phone at +4 0762 135 800 or on WhatsApp. For extension requests, please contact us at least 24 hours before the contract expires so we can check availability.

What happens if I exceed the return deadline?

One rental day equals 24 hours. The first hour of delay past the return time is free of charge. A delay of more than 2 hours is charged the equivalent of a new rental day, plus the equivalent of any additional services, at the rates specified in the Rental Agreement.

What do I do in case of an accident or breakdown?

Call us immediately at +40 762 135 800. If the accident involves injured persons, also notify the Police. If the car is no longer safe to drive (smoke, fluid leaks, airbags deployed, steering/brakes affected), call roadside assistance immediately, available 24/7: 021 9936. For any incident/accident, notify WLC within 6 hours at +40 762 135 800. Stay calm, our team will guide you step by step through the entire procedure.

I didn't receive the confirmation email — what do I do?

First check your Spam/Promotions folder. If the email isn't there either, don't hesitate to contact us by email at office@wlc.ro, by phone at +4 0762 135 800 or on WhatsApp.

Where can I drive the rental car?

You can drive the rental car within Romania and in most European Union countries. To take the car outside the country you need WLC's written agreement, a power of attorney and the required insurance, so please let us know at least 5 business days in advance.
